Earthquake Nightmares

There are no words one can say to describe our reaction to the tragedy in Haiti.
There are no words to encompass our fury that two hundred years of Western policy has kept Haiti poor and desperate, and brought them to this.

I know this is a dangerous idea, but I wonder if we would be doing them a favor to outright annex them.

But then I remember what goes on in the Marianas, and there is nothing left but the despair.
